![]() ![]() What does that mean? To carry my own cross. It becomes real when we look at the scripture above where Jesus asks us to carry our own crosses. As we prepare our hearts for Easter, we are reminded of this story that took place over 2000 years ago. The cross perfected a slow, torturous death. Its purpose was to leave the victim humiliated, on display for all to see. Jesus carried His cross to Calvary, the heavy wood splintering into his bloody back, scraping his skin raw. ![]() Message: Some might see the cross as a peaceful symbol. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it’” (Mark 8: 34-35). ![]() Core scripture: “And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. ![]()
